Awstin Rawk is dedicated to showcasing the traditionally underrepresented rock community of Austin through social media outreach, promotion, and event production. While Austin is well-known around the world for its vibrant music scene, most of the focus is geared towards artists that have a traditional "Austin Sound" which is usually blues-based rock with country and soul influences. As good as the sound is, as are the artists who perform it, there is much more to Austin music. That's where we come in. There are a number of bands and artists who are just as talented and passionate about their craft who are too often overlooked by the Austin music community and media and we're here to take up that slack. Hard rock, metal, punk are vibrant and important parts of any music scene and deserve to be showcased. While these genres are the main focus of what we do, we welcome all types of rock music that may be one the fringes or just not paid enough attention to. As the city continues to grow and the population becomes more diverse, there is an incredible opportunity to reach a new audience as well as appealing to the "old school" Austinites who are looking for something a little different.
